Galbanum is a herbaceous plant that grows at high altitude in sparsely populated areas. After several years of growth, its root develops a natural resin-rich swelling, which is then incised to allow the resin to be collected.
When exposed to air, this gum-resin naturally solidifies. It has long been used in certain traditional preparations, particularly in the production of incense sticks.
Once processed, galbanum yields an essential oil that is highly valued in perfumery for its green, vegetal and resinous notes, bringing both freshness and depth to fragrance compositions.
We currently offer both galbanum gum and galbanum essential oil. We can also supply asafoetida gum on request. Please feel free to contact us for further information.
